Just 4 days ago
Her blood washed me clean.
a joyous ride
that bounding
side to side
catching air
as only dogs can do
with occasional glance
I witness
a most happy dance.
Something went terribly wrong. She fell over the side. I pulled the truck to a sudden and fearful stop. All I could see were her paws, all four, rushing red.
OH MY GOD
SHE IS ME
DON'T LET HER DIE
My prayer has been answered. Now, as I care for her, she softly looks me in my eye. We are joined in unconditional love.
